Born in Kirkstead, Lincolnshire in 1826

1851 census; Living with parents in Barrow up Humber

1856 Trade directory, listed Thomas Brooke as machine maker

1858 married Emma Beedham

1861 census; Living in Linwood Road, Market Rasen. With wife Emma, baby Thomas and Elizabeth (2), apprentice (nephew) James Overton.

1863 Trade directory, listed wheelwright and agricultural machine maker, Linwood Road.

1865 Thomas died.

1871 census; Family grown, joining Elizabeth, is William, John and Robert.  Maid Mary

1881 census; Thomas and Emma are living still in Linwood Road, Thomas   is employing 3 men. Elizabeth, William (machinist) and John (printer) are living with their parents. Robert aged 13 is away living with cousin’s family listed as clerk.

1891 census; Thomas and Emma listed as living at 3 Linwood Road, they have one servant Florence and their grandson Robert Rawlinson living with them. William and Elizabeth are visiting Farmer George Rutter in Winthorpe on the night of the census.

1896 Trade directory listed as Thomas Brooke & son.

1898 Emma died

1900 William married Barbara.

1901 census; Thomas, widow living with son William and his wife Barbara, and maid.

1909 Thomas died on 1st November, he left £1801 7s 3d

1911 census; William and Barbara are living at 3 Linwood Road, with their   adopted son Donald Browning aged 11

1913 Trade directory listed Thomas Brooke & son, agricultural implement agents.

1922 Trade directory listed as William H Brooke, agricultural implement agent, Last entry in trade directories.
