LEVICK Family in Market Rasen 1776-1848
John Levick married Sarah Thorpe in 1775, and they moved from Worksop to Market Rasen in 1776. Their first son William was born in Market Rasen in 1777. John was born in 1779 and George in 1781.
1784, John’s son John died and then his wife Sarah died.
John remarried, and he and Elizabeth had four children. She died in 1800.
John died on 23rd May 1801. Wheelwright and watchmaker
John Levick junior baptised on 7th March 1779 and buried on 14th October 1784.
This clock made by John Levick (Levich) is in the National Trust property Ardress House, near Portadown, Northern Ireland. It was taken by Stephen Britton who was originally from Market Rasen.
George Levick was baptised on 30th October 1781 and he married Mary Robinson 2nd March 1813 and they had four children, Thomas 1813-1814, Edwin 1815-1842, George Alfred 1817-1897 and Mary 1822-1894.
1822 directory George Levick is listed as an Ironmonger. He had been a clockmaker.
1822 George died and he was buried on 6th July.
1835/1841 directories list Mary Levick as an Ironmonger
1841 census, King Street, Mary Levick Ironmonger and her two children Mary and Edwin.
1842, Edwin died, 1846 Mary married George Lyne.
1848, Mary senior died. She was buried with her son in St Thomas graveyard number 12. George’s grave not marked.

George Alfred Levick was a Chemist and worked in Caistor until he retired. He moved to Gloucester to lived with his daughter.
William Levick was born in 1777 in Market Rasen.

1841 census, William and his wife Ann are living in East Retford, listed as a watchmaker
1842 William died, and Ann died 1844.
