Doctors and Surgeons
Today (August 2020), there are 5 Doctors and a team of specialized Nurses, and dispensary at the Surgery in Mill Road. It opened in 1991 and was extended in 1996.
In the trade directory of 1937 it lists the following; 3 Doctors, a Cottage Hospital and Nursing staff, a dispensary, 1 Dentist practice and 2 visiting Dentist on Tuesdays and 1 Optician who also came on Tuesdays.
1856 directory only lists the 4 Doctors. 1857 the dispensary was opened but it was 10 years later that the Cottage Hospital opened.
Chemists and Druggists
Boots the chemist arrived in Market Rasen in 1948, and still going strong. The surgery has a dispensary as well.
In the trade directory of 1937 it lists the following; 3 Chemists, back in 1856 there were 5.
